Context & Strategic Challenge

As part of Yamaha’s strategy to attract and retain a new generation of musicians, this project focused on redefining its entry-level keyboard line — one of the company’s most commercially important product categories. The goal was to create an accessible, emotionally engaging instrument that could become the first step in a lifelong relationship with the brand.

Concept Development & Design Leadership

Selected among four internal design proposals, the final concept I developed was chosen to move forward to production. I led the creative development of a modern, intuitive interface, compact architecture, and a visual identity that lowered the intimidation barrier for beginners. My contribution focused on user-centered design and long-term emotional bonding with the product.

Outcome & Legacy

This model became one of Yamaha’s best-selling keyboards worldwide and remains a reference in entry-level electronic instruments. The product successfully captured the loyalty of first-time users, and the design approach influenced the development of future models in the PSR line.

“Design, prototype, test and repeat”

During PSR E253 design and development were several design trials, mock ups and prototype. This process was very helpful in order to achive the final product. Testing user interface, appearance, design details and so on.
